The AIDEAdaptative Multimodal Interfaces to Assist Disabled People in Daily Activities, project has the ambition to develop and pre-clinical validate a novel and revolutionary modular and adaptive multimodal human-machine interface to allow that moderately and severely impaired people interact with intelligent devices to perform daily activities and to fully participate in society.
 
It will, furthermore, focus on the development of a totally new shared-control paradigm for assistive devices that integrates information from identification of residual abilities, behaviours, emotional state and intentions of the user on one hand and analysis of the environment and context factors on the other hand.
 
A series of applications for the AIDE system have been identified across several domains in which disabled people could greatly benefit: communication, home automation, wearable robots for assisting in activities of daily living and entertainment.
 

ZED assume the responsibility of the development of the software architecture, indoor location system, the communication strategy plan in order to enhance the visibility of the project to the public, the industry and the scientific community.

Auto-managed, multi-carrier platform that provides third-party billing and messaging services.
 
 
Aura will be multi-language with the maximum technological flexibility, providing an infrastructure for any service or application which requires mobile payments or messaging. It provides all kinds of carrier connections (VPN, IP, HTTP, etc.), having a multi-protocol nature in its billing & messaging platforms (SOAP, SMPP, HTTP, FTP, etc.).

AVATAR's objective is to develop new algorithms and technologies for creating a platform for the global virtualization of identity.
 
It will make use of a Web Oriented Architecture (WOA). The resulting technology will manage the necessary infrastructure that will help in creating all the services associated with the virtual identity. With AVATAR each user han handle several profiles, with specific functionalities. From his profile the user can manage connectivity with several platforms (Facebook, Twitter, ...), with the aim that Avatar will be the one single means to get access to applications or social networks, with no additional security (authentication/authorization) requirements.

Cúmulos will create a technological framework for the development of applications which use the hardware capabilities of smartphones when interacting with physical objects that are not linked to any mobile platform or specific development technology, permitting device independent app development.
 
The project will develop an extended browser (NAEx), support tools for deverlopers and an ecosystme with tutorial applications. The application system will be hosted in the cloud and the user will access these applications in an ubiquous manner.

ZED contributes by leading the design and implementation of the infrastructure as well as the definition of the R&D Master Plan and occasional contribution to the solution's Architecture.

The main objective of the project FACES is to create a technology platform that optimizes and simplifies the development, packaging, and distribution of digital content for the main social networks over multiple platforms. This platform will provide small- and medium-sized digital content developers with the necessary technology base for the development of this type of contents and with total abstraction from the actual underlying technologies being used in the platform.

No One Left Behind” has been created to take advantages of the opportunities and the potential of digital games in the education sector.
 
This project will create a new generation of Pocket Code (a mobile media-rich programming environment for children) to unlock inclusive gaming creation and experiences in formal learning situations, by transferring game mechanics, dynamics, assets and in-game analytics from nonleisure digital games SMEs, into Pocket Code, which also will be adapted to academic curricula. Evidence of this approach will be provided through 3 experimental pilots (UK, Austria and Spain) comprising some 600 children/students, over 9-12 academic subjects and in 5 schools. 

ZED assumes the responsibility of creating the Analytics Metrics module, which allows the developer to register and analyse how the users of the applications/games are actually using the individual applications/games, as well as to provide a console that shows the interested parties several metrics (User behavior, Demographics, Progress, Time of connection, etc.). In addition, ZED will define the business model plan for “No One Left Behind’s” in order to support the project`s sustainability.

NUBOMEDIA has the objective of creating a cloud platform allowing small SMEs and individual programmers to develop their very own interactive multimedia communication services without significant investments or efforts and in a secure, efficient and scalable way.
 
NUBOMEDIA plans to expose a number of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to end developers suitable for creating a next generation of multimedia services where the information exchange is enriched through processing capabilities such as face detection and recognition, interaction with virtual objects, 3D scenario reconstruction, advanced video mixing, video recording and recovery, etc. From the perspective of programmers, the NUBOMEDIA infrastructure just behaves as an infinite supercomputer where the processing capabilities can elastically increase to adapt to the load offered by end users.

ZED, as one of the most important producers of videogames and multimedia content in Europe, is the ideal partner to define the requirements and the validation of the NUBOMEDIA results through the development of a social demonstrator. Its main objective in the project is to create a major horizontal social demonstrator based on a social game created from the NUBOMEDIA APIs and infrastructures. This game will be open to the public to obtain feedback regarding the platform's capacities. In addition, ZED also participates in the definition of the cases and scenarios of use, and it will contribute to the diffusion and planning of the exploitation of NUBOMEDIA.

The objective is to develop a solution for sustainable mobility in the context of urban and non-urban transport scenarios. A platform for interdevice communications will be created (following the Internet of Things paradigm), that will solve problems such as collecting and storing information, and complex data analytics. This platform will be applied to parking, environment and lighting sensors in order to achieve greater energy and transport efficiency.

ZED cordinates the project with the participation of the "Universidad Politécnica de Valencia" and the "Universitat Jaume I de Castelló".

UBICA2 means the development of a universal, technological platform which helps functional impairment people by favoring accessibility in an independent way from indoor or outdoor connectivity conditions.

UBICA2 provides guidance solutions for user’s devices capable of browsing any kind of routes and situations, from the more advantageous scenarios in previously mapped buildings, equipped with specific infrastructure for indoors geo-localization, to more complicated sceneries, where dynamic geo-localization is needed in order to find professionals working in catastrophic environments, in unknown buildings where no previous geo-localization infrastructure have existed.

Memento's objective is to build a Big Data platform for SMEs in order to provide storage, management and analysis capabilities through simple but flexible cloud services.

Although these tools have been around for some time, this is specially interesting when taking into account that these tools have required complex processes of installation and customization, with the implicit costs, which creates a difficult-to-beat entry barrier for small business.

ZED contributes by leading the design and implementation of the infrastructure, and also by defining the R&D Master Plan and contributing specifically to the architecture involved.
