Madrid, April 20, 2015
Zed, the leading company in advanced mobile services, has entered as a full member of the newly formed trade Big Data Value Association, who has signed an agreement with the European Commission to create the PPP (Public Private Partnership) intended to define the European R + D + i strategy on Big Data.
The goal of the partnership, composed of companies, research centers, universities and European administrations, is to strengthen the sector of European macro data and put Europe at the forefront of the global race for the data.
Current technology makes the volume of information unmanageable without a Big Data management model. Zed has over 18 years applying Big Data to the Mobile Internet, having its own Big Data technology platform that can manage billions of mobile interactions to make recommendations to clients.
Zed's contribution to the partnership will be crucial as it will bring its know how and extensive experience in data which will help to carry out the goals set by the association.
The PPP, which started on January 1st, 2015, is one of the first outcomes of the European Commission's recent policy and action plan to accelerate the development of Europe's data-driven economy. The PPP is a partnership between the European Commission and the Big Data Value Association, a non-profit, industry-led organisation whose members include SAP, Indra, Atos, IBM, Siemens, Nokia ... and now Zed.
