Madrid fosters the keys to business management that enable enterprises to keep growing also in tough times

The Congress, organized by Madrid Excelente, will present companies and individuals who managed to boost business successfully despite of the economic crisis. The British Economist Tim Harford and Motivation Expert Mario Alonso Puig provide the guidelines to encourage entrepreneurship.

Madrid – February 1st, 2012 – The fourth edition of the International Congress of Excellence takes place on February 8th. Under the title “Undertaking projects and growing in tough times”, a forum organized by the City of Madrid via Madrid Excelente, which will be inaugurated by regional president Esperanza Aguirre, accompanied by Colombia’s Ex-President Álvaro Uribe and Ireland’s Ex-Prime Minister John Bruton.

In the Auditorium of Mutua Madrileña in Madrid, innovative companies and projects will be received. These entrepreneurs have managed successfully to realize an idea from zero, internationalize a company or reinvent part of it, such as in the case of Zed, Ideas4all, Blusens, Parkhelp, Starbucks, Idodi.eu, McCann Worldgroup and Hellokittymagic.com.

“With the help of management experts and business professionals, we want to provide all of these entrepreneurs with support when setting up a new company or boosting business of an already existing one. This country needs entrepreneurs, they are the key to overcoming the crisis”, states Alejandra Polacci, general director of Madrid Excelente.

Furthermore, professionals with their own brands will participate, such as Enrique Dans, professor at IE Business School and expert in New Technologies, and Luis Huete, professor at IESE and top management assistant. Tim Harford, British economist and columnist, and Mario Alonso Puig, doctor and expert on motivation, will hold two keynote speeches about “Achieve economic success despite of business failure” and “Reinventing, your second opportunity” respectively.

The closing ceremony will be held by José Mª Aznar, Spain’s Ex-Prime Minister; Percival Manglano, Minister of Economy and Finance of Madrid, and Arturo Fernández, President of CEIM and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid.
